Win11 Academy: How to enable the “End Task Process” option in the taskbar in the Windows 11 Build 23466 preview

According to news from IT House on May 27, Microsoft has launched a new version for Windows Insider project members in the Dev channel. win11 Build 23466 preview update,After turning on the “Developer Mode”, you can enable the “End Task Process” option in the taskbar.

This option first appeared in the preview version of Win11 Build 25300, which is convenient for users to end the entire process or task.

Users can right-click any application/process icon directly on the taskbar and quickly kill the process by clicking the new “End task” option.

IT Home attaches relevant tutorials as follows:

  • Open the Settings app, navigate to System > Developer Options

  • Turn on “Developer Mode” and click OK

  • Enable the “End task” switch

If you don’t want to open the developer options, you can also modify it through the third-party tool of ViveTool.

IT Home users can use the ViveTool tool to enable the above new functions and features:

1. From GitHub Download the Vivetool tool from the page, and then extract it to any folder, but you need to remember the folder path (for example, C:\Program Files (x86)\ViVeTool-v0.3.2)

2. Press the Win key (or use the mouse) to open the start menu, type “cmd”, and then select “with administrator privileges” to open the command prompt

3. Use the cd command to jump to the ViveTool folder, for example “cd C:\Program Files (x86)\ViVeTool-v0.3.2”

4. Then enter vivetool /enable /id:42592269,42105254press the Enter key

5. Press Win + R and type regedit to enter Registry Editor.

6. Enter and access the following path in the address bar:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion.

7. Under CurrentVersion, find Developer Settings item. If there is no such content in the registry, you can create it by right-clicking and creating a new one.

8. Right-click DeveloperSettings and select New DWORD (32-bit) value, named as TaskbarEndTask.

9. Double-click to open TaskbarEndTask, and then change the value to 1.

10. Restart the computer.
