According to the report of Hassan Mujtaba, Rambus, a supplier of controllers and solutions for GDDR6 / HBM production plants, predicts thatfaster 24 Gbps GDDR6 memoryWill be in production by the end of 2023.

Currently the fastest GDDR6 video memory is the Micron MT61K512M32KPA-24 version on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, which is rated at 24 Gbps, but is actually 22.4 Gbps; the second fastest is the 21 Gbps video memory of the Nvidia RTX 4090 to RTX 4070 graphics cards. From the current point of view, GDDR6 will be upgraded to 24 Gbps in the near future.

Considering that Nvidia has not yet launched the “Ti” version of RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, AMD’s RX 7900 has already used 20 Gbps video memory, so both Nvidia and AMD may launch an upgraded version of 24 Gbps later.

IT House summarizes the ranking of the graphics card with the fastest video memory as follows:

  • Nvidia RTX 4080: 22.4 Gbps (GDDR6X)

  • Nvidia RTX 4090/4080/4070Ti/4070: 21 Gbps (GDDR6X)

  • AMD RX 7900 Series: 20 Gbps (GDDR6)

  • Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti / Radeon RX 7600: 18 Gbps (GDDR6)

  • Intel Sharp A770: 17.5 Gbps (GDDR6)
