CPU specifications introduction:

First of all, it is worth mentioning the specifications of the CPU. AMD’s product line this time is generally very similar to the previous generation. It is still Ryzen 9 16/12 cores, Ryzen 7 8 cores, and Ryzen 6 cores.

However, the frequency of the CPU has been greatly increased, the turbo frequency can reach up to 5.7GHz, and the power consumption has been increased to 170W accordingly. In addition, the cache capacity of the CPU has also increased significantly.

As can be seen from the basic specifications, AMD did not directly follow Intel to play the big and small cores, but made a deep update for the previous Zen3 architecture, from the chip process to the overall architecture.

As mentioned in the previous article, AMD has completely changed the motherboard platform this time, so let’s take a look at the main differences.

– Changed the pins of the CPU from AM4 to AM5. This is a core modification, which directly leads to the incompatibility of front and rear CPU motherboard products.

– The CPU package structure transitioned from AMD’s traditional PGA to a contact-only LGA. This can greatly reduce the probability of CPU damage and improve the life of the product.

– 600 series chipset motherboards represented by X670\B650 were launched accordingly. AMD’s new motherboard specs are powerful, but they also cost a lot more.

– Memory changed from DDR4 to DDR5, and only supports DDR5 purely. This is quite a radical strategy. The advantage is to avoid the lack of optimization caused by both Intel and Intel. The disadvantage is that it increases the threshold for replacement. At the same time, AMD has added AMD EXPO mode, which can run at a more aggressive 6000 frequency with one click, further improving performance.

– Introduced graphics cards and PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs that support PCIe 5.0 and the CPU natively supports PCIe 5.0. This specification is mainly aimed at the fact that the official announcement of AM5 will be available until 2025, which seems to be in place at one time.

– For the first time, the core graphics card was introduced on the AMD MSDT CPU. Although the scale is small, it solves the need for a bright machine.
