Microsoft admits Win10/Win11 update causes apphelp DLL file error in DirectX apps

IT House News on February 9th, Microsoft admitted win10 / win11 Devices after installing the November 2022 Patch Tuesday cumulative update,Causes DirectX or Direct3D applications to not run properly with apphelp DLL file errors on Intel devices.

IT Home translates Microsoft’s official support documents as follows:

After installing KB5019980 finer details on Win11 devices, apphelp.dll errors may be encountered on Windows devices using versions 26.20.100.7463 to 30.0.101.1190 of the Intel graphics driver.

This issue may occur intermittently and affect DirectX or Direct3D applications, causing some or all content to display incorrectly.

solution:

To alleviate this problem, you can install an Intel graphics driver version later than 30.0.101.1190. It is recommended to check that your Windows device manufacturer supports the latest version of the Intel Graphics driver for your device.

If they do not provide drivers after 30.0.101.1190, you can check the list of Intel Graphics Drivers for information on how to download and install the latest Intel Graphics Drivers directly from Intel.
