Jiangxi: By 2024, all districts and cities will be built into “gigabit cities”

IT House News on August 17th, in order to help Jiangxi build into a new highland for the development of the national digital economy and give play to the role of the information and communication industry in promoting the development of the digital economy, the Jiangxi Provincial Communications Administration recently issued the “Jiangxi Information and Communication Industry Promotion of Digital Three-Year Action Plan for Economic Development (2022-2024).

According to the Jiangxi Provincial Communications Administration, in order to stimulate the new kinetic energy and vitality of high-quality leap-forward development in Jiangxi Province, the plan proposes five core goals, namely:

  • From 2022 to 2024, the average annual growth rate of the province’s total telecom business will reach about 30%;

  • From 2022 to 2024, the average annual investment in fixed assets and R&D will exceed 12 billion yuan;

  • In 2024, the computing power of the industry will double to 3.5EFLOPS;

  • 2024,Realize that all districts and cities will be built into “gigabit cities”;

  • Every year, more than 10 innovative application benchmarks such as 5G, gigabit optical network, industrial Internet, and mobile Internet of Things, etc., which are influential in the country, and more than 30 provincial pilot demonstration benchmarks are built.

In addition, the plan pointed out that in the past three years, Jiangxi Province will implement four major actions: digital industry cluster support, digital transformation empowerment, scenario innovation and application leadership, and digital business environment expansion, to promote the development of “dual gigabit” network in the whole area, enhance physical Ten major projects, such as ecological optimization of networking industry, 5G integration application upgrade, artificial intelligence and blockchain innovation demonstration, will promote the development of its digital economy.

IT House learned that on May 5 this year, the national-level Internet backbone direct connection point in Nanchang, Jiangxi opened. In the first phase of the direct connection point, the Internet bandwidth reached 1600GB, ranking 8th in the country.
