Peppers, Please debuted as a PC release in 2013, coming from Lucas Pope, the same indie dev behind the return of Obra Dinn. Eventually, the dystopian puzzle game found its way to the iPad and PlayStation Vita, but a smartphone version was always missing from the lineup. Thankfully, the developer recently revealed that it will be bringing the game to Android and iOS on August 5th, which is today, so as promised, Peppers, Please is finally available on the Google Play Store.

More or less, Papers, Please is an uncomfortable game where you play an immigration inspector working for a communist state. It’s up to you to decide who comes in and who doesn’t, maybe let the bribes fill your pockets, or maybe you prefer to do the communists’ bidding by sucking up your bosses and crushing the little guys. The choice is yours, which is exactly what makes the game so interesting.

Now, this brand new mobile version of Papers is a port, please, but there are some changes that are worth noting. First and foremost, the entire game is presented in a picture view; There is no landscape support. The game’s timer has also been adjusted (such as the length of the day), and since the UI is new to mobile, there is only one booth upgrade available, although it appears that the game’s economy will be processed after 6 PM. A slight imbalance has been observed for the entered entrants. So you get a new UI fitting for touchscreens, but thanks to the format, it looks like some changes were necessary to better balance the game for mobile play.

As expected, this is a premium release, available for $4.99, and there are no in-app purchases to view. You get the full game, and the performance is on point, though there’s no controller support; The entire game works via a touchscreen, but considering that the game was designed for mouse input, the touch controls work wonderfully on phones and tablets.

Thankfully, the title plays just as well on PC and iPad, ensuring that the asking price is well worth the expense. So if you’ve been itching to take on a role as an immigration inspector working for a totalitarian government, you can now do so from the comfort of your Android device, as it’s one of the best Android games yet. could be the one.
