IDC: Global smartphone shipments will drop by 11.3% year-on-year in 2022, with Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi top three

According to the latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC), in the fourth quarter of 2022, global smartphone shipments will18.3% year-on-year decrease to 300.3 million unitsthe largest single-quarter decline on record.

IT House learned that IDC said that the annual shipments in 2022Declined 11.3% YoY to 1.21 billion unitsthe lowest annual shipments since 2013, mainly due toPlunging Consumer Demand, Inflation and Economic Uncertainty.

Specifically, in the fourth quarter of 2022,Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo rank among the top five in terms of market sharethe shipments were 72.3 million units (24.1%), 58.2 million units (19.4%), 33.2 million units (11.0%), 25.3 million units (8.4%), and 22.9 million units (7.6%).

In 2022,Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo rank among the top five in terms of market shareshipments were 260.9 million units (21.6%), 226.4 million units (18.8%), 153.1 million units (12.7%), 103.3 million units (8.6%), and 99 million units (8.2%).
