Apple launched the “My Photo Stream” free service in 2011. Users can upload images (up to 1,000) from the past 30 days to the iCloud platform, which can then be uploaded on the iCloud platform. iphone,ipadiPod touch, Mac and PC.

This service was launched earlier than iCloud Photos, and there is a large overlap between the two services.Apple is now also the main push iCloud Photos service.

Apple said that starting June 26, 2023, it will no longer accept users to upload photos to “My Photo Stream”; after 30 days of retention, it will be officially closed on July 26.

My Photo Stream uploads your most recent photos (except Live Photos) so you can view and import them across all your devices. Photos are stored in My Photo Stream for 30 days. iCloud Photos uploads all your photos and videos to iCloud and keeps them up to date on all your devices.

If you have both My Photo Stream and iCloud Photos turned on on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, photos taken with that device are uploaded to both iCloud Photos and My Photo Stream “.

If you use the same Apple ID on another device that only has My Photo Stream turned on, photos you take on that device will only be uploaded to My Photo Stream. These photos will not appear on any device that only has iCloud Photos enabled.
